Brazen Edwards
Brazen Edwards is a versatile artist who has a BA Criminology degree from the University of Alberta and was given special permission to take Art Fundamentals as a component of her education. She then went on to pursue a career with the RCMP and relocated to Kelowna, BC in 2009 where she began devoting herself to the pursuit of art full-time in 2010.
Her modernist abstraction explores the concept of line and form seducing the viewer into a world of ongoing equilibrium of flowing pigment that often portrays themes relating to her former career in Criminology. Movement is depicted creating a disconcerting visual drama as she endeavours to explore the viewer’s reality as a glimpse into the subconscious.
Brazen is on the Board of Directors for CARFAC BC and is a juried member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. In 2015 she opened Ellis Art Studios to provide professional studio space and world-class educational programmes to prepare artists for the broader art world. She now resides in Vancouver, BC.
