Jessica Matier
From Darkness Came Light by Jessica Matier from South Korea explores mankind's relationship towards nature and society - the preordinance of human existence versus free will, and the knowledge of wisdom within man. The perspective of a distilled human and the individual experience outside of gender, politics, and other temporal characteristics are balanced. Experiencing the movement through these abstractions catalyses an awakening of the human spirit that celebrates the sanctity and potential of the individual.
The viewer’s mind is free from perspectives that often narrow our vision towards only goals and desires. These abstract images induce a state of hyper-consciousness and create a space that outweighs the burden of modern living. The viewing process allows magic or monsters born from unresolved issues to crawl through.
This series offers a deeply personal and unique experience while simultaneously building a feeling of inclusivity to the human race.
