Blue Bonnets in the Moonlight
I chased the moon and all of its purity, all of its imperfections, all of its illumination. I chose my path unique and dark. But worth every fight. I could have been anything, a dahlia, a daisy, and even a rose maybe, with all of its perennial beauty. But I chose the moon, to follow my heart.
Wietzie created Bluebonnets in the Moonlight with a palette knife, using a variety of marking techniques. This sumptuous textured surface gives life to her abstractions.
Her painting is of an imaginary landscapes full of mystery, movement, stability and strength. She is inspired by the works of JMW Turner for his use of colour and Nicolas de Stael for his simplistic landscapes.
