Robin Declercq
Robin Declercq is a young, self-taught artist born in 1991, in Paris. Made familiar from an early age to drawing, architecture and design thanks to parents who were interior designers, he quickly discovered his artistic side.
Robin has travelled and lived in many different places in the world, from New York, Shanghai, Sydney to Budapest. He immerses himself in different cultures and naturally picks up what inspires him. He begins experimental work on a series of large-sized contemporary portraits, painted in black and white then contrasted by striking colours. His work is shaped by a variety of subjects, focusing mainly on sensual, intense and powerful looking models. Street art, fashion, and musical influences distinctively emit from it. Opposites are resonant throughout his art pieces, and on both form and content the contrast is key. His tools aren’t exclusive and he doesn’t restrict himself to a single medium. It’s actually by juggling with acrylic, oil and digital that he affirms his raw and bold brush style and his research into texture, colours and portraiture. Nowadays, his works sell worldwide and continues with passion his creation of powerful and immersive pieces.
