Sonja Kobrehel is a professional visual artist from Canada. Her art work reflect the constant changes, and stretches from intricate personal iconography to calm monochromatic abstract pieces with always recognisable brushstroke.

She is always intrigued by the human cultural elements and visual stimulation that she encounters. She finds that every place and culture reveal its beauty to her in the everyday life.

She likes to use symbols in her artwork to create her personal iconography, and her paintings usually starts with a colour idea which is then evolved into composition in which colour is the primary subject.

She works in collage, various media on paper and canvas, mixing everything possible together and bring it together in one visual format. Much attention is given to the surface texture adding different materials, carving, scratching, gluing to create visual dialog.
