The painting "A History of Everything" was painted in response to the title of a book cover the artist’s daughter aged 7 made, (her history of everything never was completed) but the title intrigued Parr, both the enormity of the statement and her daughters childhood innocence in naming her book. Parr intends to create something that is ambiguous, moving, chimerical, organic and elemental. She uses pallete knife, brush and sponge building up layers and washing away in a process that becomes as important to remove as to add, a kind of reverberation of relationship with the canvas of addition and subtraction, push and pull.
