Cascadia 6 (The seismology of cantilever hearts)
"Cascadia 6" explores the assimilation of aerosol painting, pyrography and sanding techniques on wood. The artist engages her work with notions of repetition, mark-making and blur derived from the pictorial works of artists Jack Whitten, Sterling Ruby and Gerhard Richter. This vividly-colored painting solicits our visual perception by suggesting a discoverable lattice; vibrant motifs seem to emerge out of an optically intricate all-over grid. This piece is lightly varnished with clean natural wood edges and comes ready to hang, horizontal or vertical.
