Wolff approaches the theme of animals in a graphic manner, emphasizing the symbolic, almost decorative, which is reminiscent of primitive pictorial representations in cave drawings. Rich structures and overlays of diverse lines allow animal and background to merge and emphasize the equivalence of motif and environment. The attraction for the observer consists in sounding out the limits, finding the single animals and in the observation that creature and world merge into one another. This work is the only motif in the series that was produced as a silk-screen print. Each print is unique in color and printing order of the stencils, so that every print is a unicum. In total there are only 8 prints of these screen printing stencils.
By printing the same screen slightly offset, a vibrating effect is achieved.
This work was printed on dyed cotton and laminated on a plywood plate.
The wooden frame is hand painted in a dark green with a golden patina.
