Regine Wolff

Hakas Traum (Harka's dream)

$1,140.00 USD
Acrylic on silk paper on fiber wood
62 x 54 x 2 cm / 24.4 x 21.3 x 0.8 in
Executed in 1999

In this series, Wolff explored the use of patterns in painting for the first time. Through the use of stamps, she experiments with the multitude of possibilities that the always same motif offers despite its determination in size and form. We see the same silhouette of a bear in countless variations. As in nature, it is impossible to identify two identical motifs, the endless repetition is anything but monotonous but demonstrates the infinity that can be found in any area of nature or art, no matter how small.

The work gets its special surface structure from the use of tissue paper laminated on plywood.

The wooden frame, specially made for the work, is primed in a brown tone and given a golden patina. The dimensions given above include the 5 cm wide frame.
