Lady Medici con lagarto en la mano
Ironic version of a Renaissance portrait by Agnolo Bronzino. He worked at the Medici's Court (1503/1572)
The artist is strongly fascinated by Renaissance portraits. In the original painting the female figure holds her gloves with one hand and has a neutral green as background. She painted her on a jungle background and put a lizard in her hand to emphasize the connection between human and nature. Her cold and serious look contrasts with the ripe nature surrounding her.
It is signed at the back and attached with Certificate of authenticity.
