The love of exploring colour, and following the seasons in the paintings is one of the driving forces behind this canvas. Building up many layers of colour, using top quality Golden paints and spattering, using brushes, rags and palette knives to create a rich and textured surface with tonal depth is the artist's aim. Her canvas is worked both on the ground and on an easel - this allows her to add layers of watercolour like painting without it all dripping to the bottom the canvas! When on the easel in the last stages, she is able to stand back and look. She spends more time looking than working at this stage and she tries to assess balance, colour and overall feel.
