Strange Pleasures in Overcast Skys
Strange Pleasures in Overcast Skys is part of the series I did this year after visiting Queen Victoria's garden in London.
I had just finished running the Artist's Loft on a cruise ship and finished in London. My hotel was right across the street from the house and Kensington Gardens and I got my inspiration from visiting it. I did sketches and back in my studio, enlarge and interpreted those sketches to capture the lovely views of the hidden garden, full of greens, tourquoises, blues, pinks, reds, and yellows potraying plants, fish, birds, and water.
The sides are painted with a solid color, so it is not necessary to frame. The surface, like all my work is thick, shiny, and vibrant.
